Eid-ul-Adhaa Official Announcement

Eid-ul-Adhaa Official Announcement

Assalaamu Alaikum Respected Brothers and Sisters,

The Eid in the Park team would like to give you the good news that Eid-ul-Aadhaa will be on Tuesday 16th Novemeber 2010. This announcement is based on the moon being sighted in Saudi Arabia

With the begining of Dhul-Hijjah starting Sunday 7th November, we enter upon the best 10 days of the year to perform good deeds. Ibn Abbaas, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said: There are no days during which good deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days; meaning the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. They inquired: Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah? He said: Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, unless one goes out for Jihad sacrificing both his life and property and returning with neither. (Al-Bukhaari)

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of fasting the fasting of the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah (Monday 15th November) - The day of 'Arafah. Fasting this day has immense reward, namely it results in the two years worth of sins being forgiven! - the previous year and forthcoming year as was reported from the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam)

The unit comes with a garage plus car port. The garage can act as an extra room as the flooring is floorboards. It is a fairly new unit comprising of three bedrooms with built in robes, large modern kitchen adjoining meals and family living area, separate rumpus room, bright bathroom and laundry. Other extras include ducted heating, split system air conditioning. I am planning to leave behind some furnitures so the new tenant can take over these furnitures for free.

The Merits of Ramadan

The Prophet (peace be upon him) was reported to have said that "When Ramadan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened." [2]The month of Ramadan is a great opportunity for one to do the deeds that could bring him/her closer to Paradise.

Fasting in Ramadan is also an opportunity to atone for one's sins. Abu Hurayrah quoted the Prophet (peace be upon him) as saying, "Who ever fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah will have all of his previous sins forgiven." [3]

Fasting also provides protection from evil for those who sincerely fast. Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) was reported to have said, "Fasting is a shield." [4]

Allah has a special reward which He personally gives one who fasts faithfully. Abu Hurayrah related that the Prophet (peace be upon him) quoted Allah as saying, "Every act of Adam's descendants is for themselves, except fasting. It is meant for Me alone, and I alone will give the reward for it." [5]

Perhaps the greatest and most unique merit of Ramadan lies in the fact that the Quran, which is the last and only unchanged book of Divine Guidance remaining in the world, was revealed during this month. Allah states:

"The month of Ramadan is the one in which the Quran was sent down as a (pure source of) guidance for mankind. In it are clear teachings showing the Right Way and the Criterion (for judging truth and falsehood)." [Noble Quran 2:185]

This act of revelation represents the greatest blessing from Almighty Allah to mankind, who had become steeped in darkness and ignorance since the time of the prior revelation. Without this supreme act of mercy, the weakening glimmer of guidance would have gone out completely and oppression would have reigned in all corners of the globe.

11 August 2010

Many of the world's one billion Muslims have spent the last several days preparing for the month of Ramadan, the ninth and holiest month in the Islamic calendar.

Across much of the world, Ramadan begins tonight (Aug. 10) with the sighting of the new moon. For the next 30 days, believers will abstain from eating, drinking, smoking and having sex from dawn to dusk.

For Muslims, Ramadan marks the month during which God, through the angel Gibril (Gabriel), revealed the Qur'an to the Prophet Muhammad.

Benefits of Fasting

The Benefits of Fasting

Fasting gives the individual a real taste of hunger and thirst which helps him to realize the experience of the poor. This experience should instill a desire to want to help those who are less fortunate by sharing food and wealth with them.

It is required that the individual give up not only food, drink and sexual relations, but also that he restrain from all forms of lying (e.g. backbiting, slander, etc.). This is confirmed by the Prophet's (peace be upon him) statement, "Allah has no need for the hunger and the thirst of the person who does not restrain from telling lies and acting on them even while observing the fast." [5]He also said, "When one of you is fasting, he should abstain from indecent acts and unnecessary talk, and if someone begins an obscene conversation or tries to pick an argument, he should simply tell him, 'I am fasting'." [6]So, if one observes the fast according to the above principles, it should improve his moral character, making him more truthful and more careful about what he says and does.

It has also been noted by medical experts that fasting improves the physical health in numerous ways. For example, during the fast the body uses up stored cholesterol (fats) which are often deposited in the blood system, as well as in other fatty areas of the body. Thus, it helps to keep the body firm and minimizes the danger of heart attacks.

Virtues of Ramadan

Virtues of Ramadan

"The Prophet (peace be upon him) said; "Allah has said; 'All the deeds of Adam's children (all mankind) they do for themselves, except fasting which belongs to Me and I will reward for it. Fasting is a shield (against the Hell and against the committing of sins). If one of you happens to be fasting he should avoid sexual relations with his wife and should avoid quarrelling. Should someone fight or quarrel with him, let him say, 'I am fasting'. By Him in Whose Hand is my soul (Allah), the smell of the mouth of the one who is fasting is better in the sight of Allah than musk (perfume)."

What is a successful Ramadan

1. The piety and humility of the Salaf
When Ramadaan came to a close, the rightly guided predecessors (As-Salaf As-Saalih) used to frequently seek forgiveness, repent to Allaah – The Mighty and Majestic – and fear that their (deeds) would not be accepted. They used to exert themselves (in worship) in Ramadaan and outside of Ramadaan, afterwards they would be fearful that none of this will be accepted.
2. How the Salaf behaved when Ramadaan was approaching and when it left

They used to seek the forgiveness of Allaah and repent. So much so that it was reported that they would supplicate to Allaah for six months that He would allow them to reach Ramadaan. If He allowed them to reach Ramadaan, they would fast, pray at night and supplicate for the next six months that He accepts the month of Ramadaan from them.

3. Signs that Ramadaan has been accepted

Following good deeds with good is a sign that (an act) has been accepted, whether it is pertaining to Ramadaan or other than it. If the Muslim is in a good state after Ramadaan, performing many good deeds and righteous actions, then this is a proof of acceptance.

4. Signs that Ramadaan hasn’t been accepted

If the opposite is true, and he follows good with evil, and as soon as Ramadaan is over he follows on from this with sins, heedlessness and turning away from the obedience of Allaah, then this is a proof that it hasn’t been accepted.

Every person knows their true situation after Ramadaan. So let them look, if they are in a better state, then let them thank Allaah, as this shows (that it has been) accepted.

If their state is worse, then let them repent to Allaah and seek the forgiveness of Allaah, as this is a proof that it hasn’t been accepted and it is a proof of negligence and carelessness.

5. Do not despair of the Mercy of Allaah

But the slave should not lose hope of the mercy of Allaah. He should not close the door that is between him and Allaah and despair of the mercy of Allaah.
“Say: O my slaves who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins). Do not despair of the Mercy of Allaah: verily Allaah forgives all sins. He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Az-Zumar: 53)
It is upon him to repent, seek the forgiveness of Allaah and return to Allaah – The Mighty and Majestic.

Allah – The Mighty and Majestic – accepts repentance from those that repent.

“And He it is Who accepts repentance from His slaves, and forgives sins, and He knows what you do.” (Ash-Shura:25)
And the peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad.

Welcoming the month of Ramadan

The month of Ramadaan is the best month of the year, because Allaah has chosen it to make fasting this month obligatory and the fourth pillar of Islam and He has prescribed for the Muslims to spend its nights in prayer, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Islam is built on five (pillars): testimony that there is no god but Allaah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah, establishing prayer, paying zakaah, fasting Ramadaan and performing pilgrimage to the House (Ka’bah).”Agreed upon.
And he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever spend the nights of Ramadaan in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” Agreed upon. I do not know of any specific way of welcoming Ramadaan, but the Muslim should welcome it with joy and happiness and thanking Allaah for enabling him to reach Ramadaan, for He has caused him to be among the living who compete in doing righteous deeds.
Reaching Ramadaan is a great blessing from Allaah. Hence the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to give his companions the glad tidings of the arrival of Ramadaan and explain its virtues, and the great reward that Allaah has prepared for those who fast and who spend the night in prayer. It is prescribed for the Muslim to welcome this blessed month with sincere repentance and preparations to fast and pray qiyaam, with a sound intention and sincere resolve. End quote.

Winter Time Health Tips

It’s that time of year when the cold weather can wreak havoc with your child’s immune system. A healthy diet filled with powerhouse foods such as vegetables, fruits, lean meats and herbs could be all that’s needed to prevent the winter blues and help little ones stay energised, healthy and alert this winter.

If your child’s diet is not quite up to scratch he may lack the key vitamins, minerals and antioxidants needed for a strong immune system. Encouraging your to consume a varied diet with foods containing immune boosting properties may help him fight nasty colds and infections that come his way.

A varied diet including a variety of fruits and vegetables and enough protein rich foods such as eggs, lean red meat, poultry, fish and legumes is the aim. However, there are some foods with the X-factor that are packed with immune-boosting phytochemicals. Add these to the plate to give extra immune-boosting clout.

Green noses
Green mucus is a sign there is a bacterial infection which little bodies need to fight. Blueberries, strawberries and other berries which are rich in antioxidants and have an ability to fight bacteria that cause infections. During winter, buy frozen berries, defrost and serve on cereal or mixed through warm, low fat custard. Add yellow and orange fruit and vegetables to the plate, including pumpkin, carrot, sweet potato, red capsicum, rockmelon, pawpaw, pineapple, apricot and mango. These foods are rich in vitamin A and carotenoids which are important for maintaining the health of the membranes that block bacteria from entering the body. Other ideas include making a big pot of pumpkin soup, roasting whole sweet potatoes or grating carrot on their sandwiches.

Tummy bugs
A bout of diarrhoea or gastroenteritis is no fun for any little one and the symptoms of diarrhoea may last longer without a few dietary modifications. Diarrhoea burns the lining of the intestine temporarily reducing the body’s ability to digest lactose (the sugar found in milk). Remove dairy milk, custard, ice cream and some children’s yoghurt (unless they contain a live culture) for at least a few days until the diarrhoea stops. You can replace them with soy milk based products which are lactose free. Most adult yoghurts have a culture added which helps to breakdown the lactose before it is purchased, so look for live cultures on the label.

Coughs, colds and fever
“Feed a fever, starve a cold” or is it “Starve a fever, stuff a cold”? You hear this common ‘cold’ myth both ways, however science has proved that you neither starve nor stuff either. Drown both colds and fevers in plenty of fluids including water, soups, broths and fresh fruits and vegetables so little ones don’t get dehydrated.

As for feeding and starving, colds and fevers often suppress kid’s appetites so the aim is to make every bite count. Lean red meat is a great source of iron, zinc and protein, and provides key nutrients needed to maintain a strong immune system. Meats, chicken, fish, eggs and legumes all provide the building blocks for muscles and repair especially when feverish.

An increase in body temperature uses more kilojoules in the day and kids often lose weight when they have a fever. Serve toast fingers with baked beans, avocado or an egg. You can blend up a soup with savoury mince packed with powerhouse vegetables such as carrots, zucchini, baby spinach, peas and corn. If your child turns up his nose at something savoury try serving some brightly coloured (higher levels of antioxidants) chopped fruits with yoghurt containing the lactobacillus culture, a strong immune enhancing bacteria.

Queasiness
This is a tough one as there are so many reasons why children feel sick in the tummy. Generally they feel much better after vomiting and it is just a matter of trying to keep their fluids up between vomiting episodes.

However, if he is not physically sick and may be feeling nauseous due to things such as mucus in the belly then ginger may help. Along with its immune boosting properties, this herb may help relieve nausea. Add a small amount of fresh ginger to meat and vegetables dishes such as finely chopped stir-fries and stews or for a sweet option, bake into muffins, scones or biscuits such as gingerbread men. It will at least put a smile on his face!

Wheezing and asthma
Another myth is that drinking milk produces more mucus when you have a cold. Studies to date have still not proved this fact, however we do know that milk and milk-based products stick to the mucus in the nose and throat making it thicker and therefore making it appear that there is more. This can also make it harder to breathe for little ones with a cold, so temporarily removing milky products may give some relief.

What we do know is that there are some foods that contain preservatives numbered 220-228, the sulphite family, that can irritate the breathing in some children with asthma. These preservatives are commonly found in many dried fruits, juices and preserved meats such as sausages. Just read the label to identify if the preservative is present.

Health boosters
Children generally bounce back quickly after a cold, cough, fever or infection however their little systems usually take a battering making them more susceptible for another infection to invade, especially in the winter months.

Using garlic which is rich in allicin, an antiviral, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial agent can give immune systems a huge boost to fight the next round of nasties that comes along. Garlic is nature’s little natural medicine which not only tastes great but does wonders for our health. Add it to dinner meals such as pastas and rice dishes, and include it when cooking rissoles or fish patties, or send little ones off with crackers and homemade hommus packed with protein and plenty of garlic.

Quran And Hadith

Quran And Hadith

Assalamualaikum,

My brothers & sisters in Islam, just a reminder to myself and all of us.

Insya Allah the Daily Quran & Hadith will benefit us all, Amiin.

PLEASE SPARE 2 Minutes of your time ( that is given by Allah s.w.t ) to read this .

Volume 1, Book 8, Number 375: {Sahih Bukhari }

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

Once Allah's Apostle fell off a horse and his leg or shoulder got injured. He swore that he would not go to his wives for one month and he stayed in a Mashruba (attic room) having stairs made of date palm trunks. So his companions came to visit him, and he led them in prayer sitting, whereas his companions were standing. When he finished the prayer, he said, "Imam is meant to be followed, so when he says 'Allahu Akbar,' say 'Allahu Akbar' and when he bows, bow and when he prostrates, prostrate and if he prays standing pray, standing. After the 29th day the Prophet came down (from the attic room) and the people asked him, "O Allah's Apostle! You swore that you will not go to your wives for one month." He said, "The month is 29 days."

NOTE:-

Allah's Messenger [صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم] said: "When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge and righteous offspring who will pray for him." [Sahih Muslim: 3084]

Therefore I believed by reading this Hadiths and circulating it will put us insyallah under the the category of spreading beneficial knowledge to other.

Please do circulate this hadiths to people you know.

Insyallah, Allah swt will include this in the scale of our good deeds in the Day of Judgement. Amin...
