As per my earlier posting, which we have now confirm on the sessions:
This program has been put together by our own Youth in our community.
Come and make this a great learning opportunity for other youths in the
community to prepare them in their leadership journey.
Course Presenter: Sis Syafiqah - Daughter to Bro. Zul & Sis Fadilah
Member of Hume Toastmasters Club
We are now calling out to all Youths out there to come and enrol in this 4-session Public Speaking Course.
Who?
This Pilot program is targeted at the Youths in the community and about - from 12yrs old and above.
What?
A 4-weeks Public Speaking Session where you will learn the techniques
and skills to effectively speak in public and in front of large
audiences. Building confidence and getting prepared in all public
speaking situations.
Course will be conducted in English.
Where?
Tentatively planned for Roxburgh park Youth Centre OR Craigieburn Youth Centre.
When?
Scheduled for: (Alternate Weekend Saturday)
Session 1: 19/05/2012
Session 2: 02/06/2012
Session 3: 16/06/2012
Session 4: 30/06/2012 (This date is subject to change)
Why?
Once a child steps into higher education levels such as Secondary level
onwards, students will begin their self realization journey in building
up their speech confidence and effective communication through
speaking. This is often tested and assessed through Oral examinations in
school. Unfortunately, speech skills is not one that could be learned
from books - nor, its being greatly emphasized or taught in schools.
This Public speaking session will kick-start our children by exposing
them to some skills that might not have been obvious to them. Skill-sets
in public speaking that could facilitate them in improving in their
public speaking and thinking process real-time - which will eventually
help in areas such as:
- School Oral examinations
- Scholarship Interviews
- Self confidence in speaking to general public audience
- Doing well in future Job interviews
- Become the new generation of leaders in the community..
....the list goes on.
The course is targeting a minimum cohort intake of 8 participants to kick-start the session.
We hope that to get good response for this program and Insya Allah we can have the same course up for others in the future.
Just like the 1st Quarter - Water Rocket Program, there will be a small
Enrollment fees of $5 to support the materials as part of this program.
